Thanks to everyone who continues to make this list possible every other month. There were a ton of you that submitted ballots this time around, and I’m confident everyone will find someone new to add to their readers.

It could stop there if you want, but I urge you to get to know one another (and introduce yourself to me if we haven’t met), collaborate on projects, explore commonalities, challenge one another, and make some new friends.

After you digest the list I’d love for you to stop by the comments section and have a dialogue with me (and others) on blogs you’d like us to consider for future lists (and why), some of the blogs you’re glad to see make this list, who surprised you, what you think of the newcomers to the list, etc. (You can also speculate and offer suggestions on what you think the new format will be in 2010.)

Feel free to grab the Gen Y Top Blog Badge from Flickr and add it to your blog (with or without a link back to here.

Oh, and Um, Yeah, there’s some good stuff month…

Corn on the Job – Rich’s blog consists of wisdom for job seekers and a wealth of his opinions acquired through his experiences, including human resources and corporate recruiting.

The Top 10 Gen Y Blogs for December 2009

10.) The Curbside Marketer – Jackie kickin’ it and stirring up conversation about social media, marketing, and life in the business world.

Tough for me to write about Jackie because I’m biased, but I sat next to him in an office for 5 months, and I know he’s brilliant. (Especially at making powerpoints. Hi Jackie!) He does two things really well that consistently keep me reading his blog:

First, he’s great at connecting ideas where most people wouldn’t recognize similarities. And second, he does an awesome job expanding on current events with his own insights and how it’s applicable to marketing. I really liked <a href='http://www.jackieadkins.com/2009/11/17/pedestal-or-mask/">this particular post, and his analogous Friday’s are always a welcome reprieve from going stir crazy awaiting the weekend.

————————

10.) Thrilling Heroics – Blog that encourages young professionals and entrepreneurs to pursue an unorthodox, exciting lifestyle and career, strive for excellence, and make a positive difference in the world!

If you want to get out of the cubicle and on the beach, if you want to experience ‘Lifestyle Design,’ Cody’s blog is a good place to start. He might be living a dream, but it took a lot of hard work to get there. Thrilling Heroics will give you a little insight into how you make your own dreams come true.

For example, this post is chock full of all the tools you’d need to live location independent. I’ll take Cody’s word for it that he’s pulling beautiful women, but his he does explain in depth how he finances his lifestyle and what a typical day looks like. The only thing I don’t understand is why you’d live in Thailand and not Texas if you could live anywhere in the world.

————————

9.) The Rest is Still Unwritten – Tech News and Random Ramblings from a 20-something year old bachelor.

What do Ryan Reynolds, Bill Simmons and David Stehle have in common? You guessed it. Mancrushes. All 3 of them. Maybe it’s because David’s a cool guy. I doubt it’s the reason that 95% of the commenters on his blog are women.

No, I think the reason I enjoy David’s writing is because it’s raw. And that’s who I am, completely unfiltered. And yet I turn it off when I enter the “real world” or when I share with you on this blog. So do you. But David writes like <a href='http://diamondkt.blogspot.com/2009/11/write-like-no-one-is-reading.html">nobody is reading, which inevitably let him write push the edge. I want to be that free. Don’t you?

————————

8.) Location 180 – Most of the topics written here are about some combination of Sean’s passions: travel and entrepreneurship.

What I love about Sean’s blog is that he’s sharing his journey with us, and he writes in such a way that it feels like we’re along for the ride. And not just sitting shot gun (especially since he just sold his car), but actually witnessing his everyday life and decisions from his eyes.

Another thing I really appreciate about Sean is that his path isn’t defined by those around him. He defines his own success, and he doesn’t let deterrents slow him down. Case in point: “21 Things I Have Learned From Unemployment”

————————

7.) Ophelia’s Webb – Musings and Ramblings from a no-so-average girl next door bumbling around the gorgeous metropolis that is Portland, Maine.

Aside from her Blog Crushes, which are a superb way to highlight young bloggers, Elisa (her name isn’t Ophelia) also has a knack for taking seemingly small, every day encounters that we might take for granted and writing about them in a way that maybe you haven’t thought about.

Whether that means evaluating the beauty of vulnerability and relinquishing power or <a href="http://www.opheliaswebb.com/2009/11/happiness-exists-in-the-middle/'>finding happiness in the middle, her hodge podge of assessments are always thought, and usually a bit introspective.

————————

6.) Small Hands, Big Ideas – Musings and Inspiration on Technology, Career and Generation Y

Grace has graced us (get it? I’m clever) on this list four consecutive times now, and I have a sneaking suspicion that her ability to consistently find herself on this list has a lot to do with the consistency she displays on her blog.

Which isn’t to say she won’t surprise you with a new approach sometimes. As I know I’ve mentioned before I really appreciate her ability to mix up her posts and cover a wide variety of topics, infuse some of herself in there, and deliver insightful nuggets like this one.

————————

5.) Life’s Like a Box of Chocolates – Stories and advice from the variety of things Sam’s discovered in her box of chocolates.

Poignant. That’s how I’d describe Sam’s writing. Like other writers on this list she really opens up and bares her soul to her readers, and a result we’re forced to learn about ourselves simultaneously while Sam examines her own life.

I can forgive her for her reality TV affliction when I read how she poetically navigates everyday conflicts like selfishness, and I don’t think I’m the only one who gets a lot of value from her [Sam] antics posts. Top all that off with the fact that she’s an absolute sweetheart and never fails to brighten a busy day with a quick hello via gchat.

————————

4.) Sydney: Unfiltered – A raw take on Syd’s life. One she describes as: unpredictable, frightening, and wildly exciting

Sydney’s altered her brand a bit and while I don’t think she’s nearly as unfiltered as a Jamie Varon or a David Stehle, I think she’s really grown as a writer since stepping away from just PR and encompassing a lot more aspects of her personal life. Not to mention rejuvenated herself (and her blogging) I believe.

Not only is she getting the opportunity to speak at SXSW, which she riffs on here, but also her love life (which I kinda get to help with sometimes), and a savvy and personal look into growing up and being a working woman (and all that entails) in big city Chicago.

————————

3.) Life Without Pants – The blog about everything and nothing: Without restrictions, without cause. The latest on Gen-Y, technology, philosophy, and more!

Three consecutive weeks at #1, and I suspect he thought he’d fall further than this after some people voiced their displeasure of late. But this is a testament to both Matt’s content and his ability to market himself and genuinely connect with people. (And that’s part of being a top blog, no? Rallying your community?)

Whether it’s useful tips Matt’s acquired from his own experiences or just the fact that he’s always on the grind Matt’s certainly earned my respect.

————————

2.) OwlSparks – Daily short posts (oh, erm, not anymore) on philosophy, marketing, social media, personal branding, love, friendship, questions, discussions and all that stuff.

Carlos debuted at #3 on this list in August, and since then he’s switched from daily short posts to some less frequent longer posts, he’s ruffled some feathers, and most importantly… he’s probably made you think. About yourself, your beliefs, societal norms, foolish paradigms and much more.

I don’t always agree with Carlos, but wouldn’t your rather read something that challenges you to ask questions and dig a little deeper than nodding along and going, “Yeah I can dig that.”

————————

1.) Life After College – Jenny’s mission is to provide simple, practical tips that help you focus on the BIG picture of your life…not just the details. Find tips and resources for life, work, money, happiness, productivity, personal growth and more.

Admittedly, I’ve been anticipating Jenny’s ascension to the top for few months now. I suspect it was only a matter of time. Quickly becoming famous (in our insular world) for her nifty templates/guides, Jenny does so much more. For one, though I haven’t met her I can assure you she’s real (just read the post).

I don’t know if it’s because she gets to hang around smart people at Google all day, but sometimes it just feels like Jenny knows something I don’t (aside from what a red velvet cupcake tastes like). For about 3 seconds it makes me want to live vicariously through her until I read that I should “Stop Audition for Other People’s Lives.” Told you she was smart. Like Sydney, she manages to mix in a few dating posts. But most importantly, she takes great pride in convincing the most charismatic bloggers in the world to guest post for her. (What? My fingers are tired. I deserved that plug!)

Congrats Jenny! And to everyone who made the final Top 10 Gen Y Blog List of the Year (and in this format)! I’m off to call Jenny and congratulate her, seriously. You – scroll down to the comments section and let me know how awesome these write-ups were.

Thanks to everyone who continues to make this list possible every other month. There were over 35 of you that submitted ballots this time around, and I’m confident everyone will find someone new to add to their readers.

It could stop there if you want, but I urge you to get to know one another (and introduce yourself to me if we haven’t met), collaborate on projects, explore commonalities, challenge one another, and make some new friends.

Thanks to all of you that continue to make this list possible. With your votes, your posts, and your encouragement of one another and our community, there’s no way this list could consistently come to fruition.

Continuing the trend, this month passed June’s total number of ballot submissions. Not by a whole lot, but definitely a handful of new ballots this month. Please continue to spread this list to your friends and fellow bloggers.

After you digest the list I’d love for you to stop by the comments section and have a dialogue with me (and others) on blogs you’d like us to consider for October’s list (and why), some of the blogs you’re glad to see make this list, who surprised you, what you think of the newcomers to the list, etc.

Feel free to grab the Gen Y Top Blog Badge from Flickr and add it to your blog (with or without a link back to here.

WARNING: I’ll say this again this month. Don’t scroll down super fast looking for your name. Read it really slowly where you can only see one blog on your browser at a time. It’s more fun and suspenseful that way. I promise.

AND NOW WHAT YOU’VE BEEN WAITING FOR…

The Top 10 Gen Y Blogs for August 2009:

10. The Rest is Still Unwritten (RV) – Tech News and Random Ramblings from a 20-something year old bachelor.

David makes his triumphant return to the list after falling off in the June edition. In the past I’ve described his content as raw and fresh. Add eloquent the list. Maybe that’s what makes his writing compelling; the ability to shift gears, to simultaneously be at odds with his own behavior, empowered by the gift of life, and completely unpredictable in what lies ahead. I just hope he gets this speech written, or this might be the last we hear of him.

9. Location 180 (NR) – Most of the topics written here are about some combination of Sean’s passions: travel and entrepreneurship

Sean is a complete newcomer to this list, which isn’t necessarily uncommon, but always fun for me because I know many of you are going to subscribe to his blog right now. One of the primary reason’s he started his blog was to be held accountable for completing an extensive bucket list, including having a successful blog. Well, I’d say he’s well on his way especially if he’s able to transmute his daydreams into tangible success.

8. Brazen Careerist (10) – Penelope’s blog is about career advice, and her of course.

Penelope jumps two spots this week. Just when I get comfortable with what to expect from her, she’s able to shake the foundation of how much I could fathom someone of her stature revealing about themselves online, leaving my chin on the floor. I noted last edition how talented she is at making us think, but maybe it’s more than that. I tune in to her posts like an episode of LOST, and when I’m done I can’t decide whether or not I’m appalled, inspired, motivated to write or to take a shower. I think that’s a good thing.

7. The Lost Jacket (NR) – A blog based out of Boston, MA (authored by Stuart Foster & Carla Blumenthal) focused on social media, public relations, marketing and brand management for businesses.

Another blog making it’s debut on this list, and the only co-authored blog appearing this week. I liked Stuart just fine by himself. He’s outspoken, a little edgy. always contemplating, connecting and sharing the endless thoughts in his head. It doesn’t hurt that by lunch he’s commented on every blog in your reader. But then, you add Carla to the mix and you get a great dichotomy. She’s the right mix sharp, savvy and endearing, but bold enough to keep Stuart in line. What do you think? Are they up and coming bloggers?

6. Interesected (5) – Jamie’s personal blog where she writes about everything and nothing at the same time; anything she finds interesting or worth talking about.

Jamie drops a spot from her top-half debut on June’s list. Honestly, none of Jamie’s posts impacted me the way one small e-mail she sent me this past month did. And I can’t possibly be as creative as I was on her write up in June, especially with she and Sydney giving me performance anxiety on Twitter. So then what? Well this was my favorite post from the last month or so, and I love that she’s showing us a vulnerable side; in a movie she would finally have enough depth to be the lead instead of the “girl pretending to be hard ass.” I commend her for that, and I’m thankful she lets us share that ride with her.

5. Life After College (6) – Jenny’s mission is to provide simple, practical tips that help you focus on the BIG picture of your life…not just the details. Find tips and resources for life, work, money, happiness, productivity, personal growth and more.

Switching places with Jamie since our last week, I hope Jenny doesn’t brag to her cupcake brethren. That wouldn’t be nice. There are some bloggers that delve into theory and philosophy and dissect the abstract to find ‘meaning.’ Jenny’s the often the opposite, providing very practical and applicable advice with respect to her own life, that you could easily extract and use as your own. Whether it’s tools for personal finance, how to get organized, or how to distribute your paycheck you could do a lot worse than emulate Jenny’s approach. It was this little diddy about embracing uncertainty from one of her mentors that really resonated with me.

4. Ryan Stephens Marketing (NR) – With a primary focus on relationship marketing, RSM focuses on building intimate business relationships, particularly as it relates to components of online marketing.

I always feared the day my blog might potentially make this list b/c I don’t want to undermine the credibility of the list, or talk about myself. I’ll say this… for those of you who voted for me, I’m genuinely flattered – and I’m not going to downplay it for once because I feel like my content, particularly in June should’ve had me in the mix. That’s honest, and so was this post.

3. Owl Sparks (NR) – Carlos’ blog provides daily short posts on philosophy, marketing, social media, personal branding, love, friendship, questions, discussions and all that stuff.

The highest debut for August’s top 10 list, I’m proud to see Carlos make this list because I love his content, and because I think his unique approach adds variety to this list. I often need a very quick break at the office, which is perfect for reading one of Carlos’ posts, except for the fact that then I can’t concentrate because with a handful of words he’s propelled me into deep, critical thought. That’s a unique gift. Please don’t mistake brevity for lack of hard work. I assure you, especially with English as a second language, Carlos is all about hard work.

2. Small Hands, Big Ideas (2) – Musings and Inspiration on Technology, Career and Generation Y

Since this list made the transition to the voting process only Dan’s blog has made consecutive top 3 appearances. Grace changes that this week as she retains her runner-up status. What I love about Grace’s blog is the wide assortment of topics and approaches she uses. We have short nuggets of wisdom one day, longer more provocative pieces the next, pertinent research, and linky love on Fridays. Not only does she keep us engaged and on our toes with gems like this one, but she’s tremendous at calling attention to members of her community (and not just on Friday’s.

AND THE TOP GEN Y BLOG FOR JUNE IS…..

1. Life Without Pants (1) – The blog about everything and nothing: Without restrictions, without cause. The latest on Gen-Y, technology, philosophy, and more!

Can ANYONE stop this guy over the last four months? Not only is he repeating as your #1 Gen Y blogger, but he also managed to find a brand new job. Someone call Joel McHale because this guy is having the best week ever. The best part? He did it all again w/o the help of 40 Gen Y Bloggers.

So HOW was Matt capable of re-peating? I personally think it’s because you’re only as good as your community and Matt excels at delivering value to his community, and has one of the most vibrant and valuable (<– does that count as alliteration) comments sections on any Gen Y blog. From practical advice to improving your own blog and social media efforts to in depth life exploration and insights the bottom line is… Matt continues to deliver!

Be patient. Don’t scroll down yet. Let’s talk about a couple of things first.

Thank you to everyone who voted to make this list possible. It was far and away the most ballots I’ve received. Please keep spreading the word so that we can continue recognizing great blogs, and giving people new feeds to add to their readers.

Thanks to all the bloggers who leave all their blood, sweat, tears and carpel tunnel out there on the keyboard.

I’d still love for someone to help me create a badge that bloggers can proudly display on their blog (if they’d like of course – no requirement). Jamie V? Bueller? Bueller?

There are more personal finance and dating/relationship blogs than usual this list. I love that the spectrum of blogs featured is increased.

That said, I’m not sure a couple (particularly the dating blogs) are all that “Gen Y,” but hell if you’re reading them and voting for them, I suspect I’ll keep including them.

After you digest the list I’d love for you to stop by the comments section and have a dialogue with me (and others) on blogs you’d like us to consider for August’s list (and why), some of the blogs you’re glad to see make this list, what you think of the newcomers to the list, etc.

WARNING: Don’t scroll down super fast looking for your name. Read it really slowly where you can only see one blog on your browser at a time. It’s more fun and suspenseful that way. I promise.

AND NOW WHAT YOU’VE BEEN WAITING FOR…

The Top 10 Gen Y Blogs for June 2009:

10. (Tie) Brazen Careerist (RV) – Penelope’s blog is about career advice, and her of course.Love her or hate her Penelope’s blog makes you think, and I suspect that’s why she’s always in the mix when I start assembling this list every other month. Rebecca says it best, “Just accept that she does a great job at her job – pushing others to think differently, learn about their own values, form opinions, and create dialogue.” Carlos had a great discussion on his blog about back story usually being unnecessary, though with Penelope it’s so damn interesting that’s why you read her posts in the first place.10. (Tie) Justice For All (NR) – Akihila writes primarily about human rights, but also mixes in social enterprise, social media, and her musings on work and life.I love that this month’s blog features lots of new writers like Akihila, but just as important, a breadth of topics that span a lot further than just ’social media,’ and marketing. She’s been pumping out a lot more content than a lot of the blogs on this list, and all of them are insightful and feature a wealth of depth. Make sure you check out her piece on the importance of social change.

9. The Mad Grad (7) – These ladies dish out advice based on their own experiences that they hope will be helpful in your quest for the perfect job, house or roommate!

Ashley and Jenny were #1 on our inaugural list (well, once we started the voting process), and one of only four blogs to make all three lists so far. The ladies have great chemistry with one another, just recently surpassed their one year of blogging milestone, and continue to consistently put out content that covers a wide variety of really interesting topics affecting Gen Y and the transition from college to the real world. As a side tidbit, I love that they’re unafraid to share some pretty random stuff; it keeps them feeling ‘fresh’ for me.

8. Employee Evolution (5) – Dedicated to helping the millennial generation answer the hard-hitting questions that come with the biggest transition of their lives.

After two weeks of holding steady at #5, Ryan dips down to eight. Is it any coincidence that Penelope jumped up this week? I suspect it’s an elaborate conspiracy to overtake Ryan has the go-to Brazen blogger for this particular voting community. The fact that he remains on this list in spite of his volume decreasing is a testament to the value he provides when he posts, or his ability to lure people to vote for him with placement on Brazen’s main page. I appreciate that he provides real advice based on real experiences and doesn’t piggy back on re-hashed content from the Gen Y echo chamber.

7. Jun Loayza (NR) – This blog documents Jun’s successes and failures throughout his journey as an entrepreneur, and his attempt to balance love for his startup with love for his girlfriend.

It’s about time people started taking notice of not only the sheer volume of value Jun is providing, but also the quality and relevance of his posts. With extremely practical and useful posts, and a keen eye for a solid aesthetic and vivid visuals that really breathe life into his posts, there’s little doubt in my mind Jun’s a grinder; one that is going to succeed at all costs. In addition to his writing, he’s put a lot of time and effort into growing the “Gen Y” community (along with others on this list), something we should definitely commend him for.

6. Life After College (NR) – Jenny’s mission is to provide simple, practical tips that help you focus on the BIG picture of your life…not just the details. Find tips and resources for life, work, money, happiness, productivity, personal growth and more.

Practical. Consistent. Relevant. There are countless ways to describe Jenny’s blog, but they all boil down to one thing, tremendous value. Covering a very wide spectrum of issues that face Generation Y, I genuinely feel Jenny is just starting to hit her stride, and that’s scary, because she’s had some great posts lately (and her community is responding via a wide array of thoughtful commentary.) Make sure you check out her two part series on creating a professional development strategy. (Part I — Part II)

5. Interesected (NR) – Jamie’s personal blog where she write about everything and nothing at the same time; anything she finds interesting or worth talking about.

What can you say about Jamie? She’s kind of like a beautiful mess. And I mean that in the best way possible. She does a tremendous job of stripping off all the layers and exposing her core and what makes her tick. I hesitate to lump her because she’s certainly got her own unique approach, but if you’re unfamiliar with her work you could probably liken her to Penelope or Holly. She’s equal parts insightful, intuitive and down right hilarious. Reading her thoughts on screen sometimes feels like a brilliant painter slinging paint on a blank canvas; always a treat.

4. Politicoholic (1) – This blog is currently host to Nisha’s commentary about a wide variety of issues, mostly political and social.

I don’t know what to say about Nisha’s blog that I haven’t already said the last two editions of this list. Until the last few ballots trickled in, I thought she might very well repeat. She was neck and neck with the #1 blog on this list before a late surge by a couple of talented ladies. The more I read Nisha the more I realize that it’s not just that she’s one of the few Gen Y bloggers that attacks politics in such a profound way, it’s not that she’s kind and generous and always contributing to other people’s blogs, and it’s not that she is great at engaging her community. None of those things hurt, but the fact is, Nisha is just a brilliant writer. Make sure you congratulate her on her new job and wish her luck in Washington, DC.

3. Modite (6) – This blog gives career advice for a new generation of workers.

From 8, to 6, to 3, Rebecca just keeps climbing the Gen Y top blogs ladder. Like Nisha, I’m running out of nice things to say and she didn’t add any new features like vlogging or agree/disagree this month, but it doesn’t take most readers long to realize Rebecca has a wealth of experience, a great since of practicality and a phenomenal ability to convey her messages to her readers. If you did an average comment per post, I suspect Modite’s ratio is higher than most on this list so evidently what she’s writing is resonating with her readers. Besides, by now we all know that just trying isn’t good enough.

2. Small Hands, Big Ideas (NR) – Musings and Inspiration on Technology, Career and Generation Y

I prefaced this list on Twitter as one that would shake things up, and it certainly has as Grace Boyle’s blog makes its debut in the number two slot. My first inclination is to ask why nobody has pointed this blog out to me way before now, but this should be about Grace. Speaking of which. Stop reading. Seriously. Go to her blog now and subscribe. WAY more than 47 people need to be reading her blog. Okay. I’m done now.

Whether it’s showing us inside an intimate moment with a friend, giving us great advice on how to relocate, highlighting local businesses in a way that makes me care knowing I’ll probably never encounter any of them, or generously linking out to others, Grace is very deserving of this debut. But don’t believe me, go read her content. Well, right after you check out the #1 blog for the Month of June!

AND THE TOP GEN Y BLOG FOR JUNE IS…..

1. Life Without Pants (NR) – The blog about everything and nothing: Without restrictions, without cause. The latest on Gen-Y, technology, philosophy, and more!

I cannot lie, in the back of my mind I thought he’d make a run. Hell, I’ve been telling anyone who will listen this last month to keep an eye on Matt because he was up to some big things. One of the BEST I’ve encountered at engaging his community/readers and really generating enthralling conversation in the comments sections of his posts. (There’s as much value there as the posts themselves.)

You have to go back just a bit in the archives to find a lot of content posted by Matt himself (which is worth it by the way) because the month of May has been devoted to his Inconvenience of Change series. I absolute love the fact (free book aside) that Matt was able to bring together over 40 Gen Y bloggers to contribute to a really phenomenal series dissected from countless different angles. Go check it, and Matt’s other content out. I assure you that you won’t be disappointed!

FINALLY. I started teasing it last night hoping I’d get it up then (and over-deliver), but I really wanted to do justice to the explanations for each of the top 10 Gen Y Blogs. Thanks to everyone who voted and continue to make our efforts to highlight tremendous Gen Y Blogs possible.

ALSO, I would be very appreciative if someone significantly more graphically inclined than me could whip up a badge of sorts everyone could display on their blog linking back to these lists. I know the value you all provide, but I want the entire blogosphere to realize that Gen Y isn’t just a bunch of pretentious trophy-kids, but provide real, valuable insights!

WITHOUT FURTHER ADO…

Only a few votes separating…
Echodemic – A new blog to the mix, making its debut within a few votes of our top 10. Phil and Josh have solid volume and write about all things Gen Y.
PR Interactive – A way for Meg to interact with other professionals, students, and professors in communications to further her (and your) knowledge and understanding about the PR field and industry trends.
Ryan Stephens – Not sure why any of you clowns would vote for this blog, but I’m flattered nonetheless.
Ben Casnocha – A blog about entrepreneurship, books, current affairs, and intellectual life.
Brazen Careerist – Penelope’s blog is about career advice, and her of course.
Millennial Leaders Blog – Like Echodemic, Bea’s blog made a big push this week. She covers a wide range of Gen Y topics.
I Will Teach You to Be Rich – Personal finance blog for college students, recent graduates and everyone else — including entrepreneurship — for getting rich.

The Top 10 List:

10.) Work Love Life (3) – Explores topics that range from career development and entrepreneurship to relationships, from personal finances to spirituality and community building.

Holly’s blog slipped from the number 3 spot, but she remains on the list. Maybe her fall is because she’s only written two posts on Work Love Life since our last top list. Maybe it’s because of Meredith’s post referring to her blog as a “guilty pleasure,” (I appreciated Meredith’s insight even though I disagreed.) It could be because she’s invested time in launching a new blog. I’d like to think it’s because she’s running around creating crazy blog-worthy stories to share with all of us. In any event, you can suspect she’s “living like her life depends on it.”

9.) Personal PR (NR) – How the principles and theories, the practices and norms of public relations can work for you, your online identity, your network, your career.

Tiffany’s another woman who I’ve always enjoyed to read, and was frequently featured on my old lists before I moved to the voting process. It’s nice to have her back. She has only written a couple of posts since the last list as well. That obviously means the couple she’s done have resonated with her audience. She’s experimenting, less with PR, more with passion and words. It’s a fun shift to witness, and helped her articulate why “It’s Never To Late.”

[Side note: Anyone else think that Susan is just a tremendous filter? If she tells me to read it, I’m there in a hurry. Seems she’s always making incredibly insightful comments on tremendous posts.]

8.) The Rest is Still Unwritten (9) – Tech News and Random Ramblings from a 20-something year old bachelor.

David debuted on the February edition of this list in the 9th spot and moves up a spot this month. The thing about David’s blog is it always feels so fresh to me. Fresh content, fresh ideas, fresh insights. He really mixes it up with short posts that just make me laugh and longer more insightful posts. He has a very distinct voice, and he doesn’t let himself get boxed into one niche, writing about all things that interest him (and his readers as evidenced by the fact that he’s got on of the most commented blogs on this list.)

7.) The Mad Grad (1) – These ladies dish out advice based on their own experiences that they hope will be helpful in your quest for the perfect job, house or roommate!

Ashley and Jenny made a bold debut last week in the #1 spot, but as others will soon find out (and NCAA basketball teams already know), it’s tough to consistently stay atop a list with so many talented competitors. I was very impressed by their coverage of all things involving the transition into life after college. I still am. Like David, these two ladies do a good job intertwining easier to digest nuggets, and more provocative posts that generate a solid amount of discussion.

6.) Modite (8) – This blog gives career advice for a new generation of workers.

Rebecca’s blog moves up two spots from our Feb. edition. Could her ascension have anything to do with the fact that she’s added vlogging to her arsenal? Apparently starting a new job and tolerating Ryan Healy haven’t slowed her down. I love that she’s not afraid to experiment, and I like her new agree/disagree approach of filtering interesting posts for her readers. She’s definitely an edge-walker, and that’s illustrated in this post, “Stop Writing About Social Media to be a Successful Blogger.”

5.) Employee Evolution (5) – Dedicated to helping the millennial generation answer the hard-hitting questions that come with the biggest transition of their lives.

Employee Evolution holds steady at number 5 this month, which is impressive considering Ryan has to run his own company without much funding, in a recession, all the while trying to keep Penelope from borrowing his credit card so he can afford to buy Rebecca Valentine’s flowers for her table so her vlog scenery is pretty. What I like about Ryan’s approach is that it’s totally different than a lot of 20-somethings (coincidentally, that’s why I like theirs as well.)

Most of us take a bit of a vulnerable, we’re learning this all as we go approach, but Ryan’s voice is typically very authoritative and assured. Here’s “10 More Ways Generation Y Will Change the Workplace,” and it’s better than the last ten.

4.) Girl Meets Business (NR) – A blog for young professionals who want to: develop professionally through growth and learning, improve themselves and the world around them, pursue passion and success, and share their thoughts and insights on career development.

From also receiving votes all the way to #4, and deservedly so. Admittedly I wasn’t all that familiar with Angela’s blog (and I try to read most of these blogs periodically so that I have a good pulse of what’s out there.) Because of that, I really delved into her blog this week, and if you haven’t yet, you should be.

Her blog is chocked full of useful pieces offering relevant and valuable tips and advice for essentially becoming a better person (personally and professionally.) As Angela learns, she shares, and we’re able to learn from her. For example, “What I Learned From Blogging that You Can Use in Real Life.” Also, though it came out after votes were tallied, I loved the innovative and insightful approach to this post about the “Seven Deadly Sins of the Professional.”

3.) Twenty Set (NR) – A place to talk about graduate school, married life, and her love of Chicago. At least that’s what her ‘about’ says. I’ll say it’s phenomenal insights into new media, and being a passionate 20-something navigating the real world.

How or why Monica’s blog didn’t even receive votes in our Feb. edition astounds me, but sometimes good blogs slip through the cracks; sometimes they also come roaring back with a vengeance. Like David, Monica is another blogger that has a really great, loyal readership that illustrates that love with an abundance of comments. It’s usually a great sign a blogger is engaging (both in their writing and the way they build community and cultivate relationships.)

What I like most is Monica’s ability to craft her words such that every thing seems so simple by the time I’m done reading her posts. They flow in a such a logical way that I “get it” without having to scour back through. That’s hard for some bloggers, but it seems effortless of her. Besides that she helped me answer a discussion I’ve been having with myself (and Chuck, and Nisha) with this blog post: “You Don’t Need a Blog Topic, Just Start Writing.”

2.) Personal Branding Blog (2) – Your #1 resource for personal branding online. this blog includes podcasts, interviews with experts, insightful articles, research reports, games and much more.

I thought this might be the week that Dan regained his throne atop this list, but alas it wasn’t to be. I suspect he can’t complain too much about holding steady at 2-spot. Dan’s current team of writers is constantly changing (and it’s because he’s picked so well they’re all getting promotions and don’t have time anymore), but the value provided by his blog is not. I guess it doesn’t hurt that he has the author of the #3 blog writing for him once a week, and one of my other favorite bloggers as well.

As we inch ever so close to his book launch (Congrats Dan!), he’s still pumping out awesome content and interviewing some very interesting people like Tony Hsieh and one with author John C. Maxwell, which I particularly enjoyed. Dan thinks about personal branding non-stop. He took one look at February’s top list and goes, “Hey you need a badge people can put on their blogs. That’d be huge!” Needless to say, I’m looking forward to implementing that idea!

AND THE TOP GEN Y BLOG FOR APRIL IS…..

1.) Politicoholic (7) – This blog is currently host to Nisha’s commentary about a wide variety of issues, mostly political and social.

From #7 last edition, to NUMBER ONE. Why? I’m not sure. You guys voted. But let me speculate for a few. For one, aside from Dan, Ben (and maybe a couple of others) she pumps out more content than most 20-somethings (and it’s damn good content too.) Sure, she talks about politics, at least more than most people our age, but she doesn’t confine herself to one niche, which helps her appeal to a wider range of people. Like so many others on this list she also has a unique voice that’s confident when it should be, and subtle and inquisitive when it makes sense.

In addition, Nisha isn’t just blogging and waiting for things to happen (though you could argue blogging in of itself isn’t just waiting around), but actually acting and trying to convince others to affect change as well. The average person is looking to be led, and even tremendous leaders like a solid focal point sometimes. Recently, I’ve enjoyed her fun comments about SXSW and intriguing piece about women sucking at self promotion.

You voted. The results are in.

As you know putting together the Top 10 Gen Y Blog list had become quite the chore so I decided to open the voting up to all of you guys, and I put together this ballot. I was really pleased with the amount of people who submitted ballots, and the results of the voting. Without my bias in the mix, February’s list will hopefully introduce you to some new blogs. Without further ado:

Also Receiving Votes:
Young Go Getter, Quarter Life Lady, Girl Meets Business, The Millennium Marketer, I Hate HR, Working Girl, Two Notes Ahead, Life Before Noon, El Gaffney, Feverbee, Fake Plastic Noodles, Driven Leaders, Keep Up With Me, M-Cause, and Ryan Stephens Marketing

Close, but No Cigar:
The Office Newb – Jacqui Tom (a.k.a The Office Newb) offers you the latest tips, insight and stories about being the new kid at the office.
Gen Pink – Elsya’s blog about being a twenty something woman, and letting others know how our generation is different than those before us.
Pipe Dreams & Professions – This blog follows the journey of aspiring writer, Elle Field. It also brings you news from the literary world, book reviews, etc.
Hard Knox Life – The personal blog of Dave Knox, a Brand Manager at a major CPG company. It is about the changing forces in marketing, media & technology.
Watercooler – Home base for those who think about starting a career and ask themselves, what now?
The Schiff Report – Tracks media coverage of Generation Y and related issues. It also includes original analysis.
Young Frugal – Business and personal finance for Millennials.
Newly Corporate – Work, life, and the pursuit of happiness for the young professional.

The Top 10 (11) List

10.) (Tie) I Will Teach You To Be Rich – Personal finance blog for college students, recent graduates and everyone else — including entrepreneurship — for getting rich. For me Ramit’s blog is one of the best to go for personal finance advice and tips. I suspect many other Millennials feel the same and that’s why he made this list. His save $1000 in 30 days challenge is a very useful resource and a great place to start if you’re not familiar with his work.

10.) (Tie) Ben Casnocha – A blog about entrepreneurship, books, current affairs, and intellectual life.

Ben’s blog has been a mainstay on my top 10 list since I started putting it together. The blog is consistently updated, and isn’t afraid to delve a little deeper than most Gen Y related blogs, and really make you think. If you’re unfamiliar with his work, which is stimulating whether he’s discussing business or ping-pong, the best of Ben is a solid place to start.

9.) The Rest is Still Unwritten – Tech News and Random Ramblings from a 20-something year old bachelor.

And yet that description doesn’t even begin to encapsulate what David’s blog is about, which for me, his words (always completely transparent) embody his raw journey through life. I’ve recently become acquainted with David’s work as we have seemed to travel in different circles, and I’m glad I have. He discusses stuff other people are scared to put on paper, and makes ambiguity enthralling. This post is one of my favorites that resonates in so many ways.

8.) Modite – This blog gives career advice for a new generation of workers.

It’s no secret that Rebecca’s blog is one of my favorites, and that the only reason she’s been left off the list in the past is because of the lack of consistent updates. Well, that’s changed and you’ve voted her in (and I would’ve too this month). Her blog beautifully intertwines aspects of life and the business world to provide great practical advice and highlights (literally) key takeaways. This piece from Sept. is still one of my favorites, “Social Media is Difficult Like Intimacy.”

7.) Politicoholic – This blog is currently host to Nisha’s commentary about a wide variety of issues, mostly political and social.

Like David and a few others remaining on this list, Nisha is another writer who I have recently become acquainted with. Her blog is a great resource for staying up to date on important political and social issues and the implications of those (on Gen Y or otherwise). When I really took notice of Nisha’s work was when she won Brazen’s “How Blogging Changes Lives,” contest with this brilliant piece: “Forget Careers. Blogging Changes Lives.” Really, read it. It’s astounding.

6.) The Creative Career – The transition from college into life in the big city, looking at how students can prepare for the ever-changing roles in communications, marketing and public relations.

Allie’s blog is another that I have recently become acquainted with. Like Rebecca’s blog it is chock full of practical advice and tips you can apply to your life immediately. Her design (thesis) is clean and smooth, and her frequency of posts rivals most in this busy Gen Y crowd. What draws me in the most is the variety of different posts, all relevant, and invariably keeping me from getting burned out. This post showcases her solid practical approach about an issue relevant to Gen Y.

5.) Employee Evolution – Dedicated to helping the millennial generation answer the hard-hitting questions that come with the biggest transition of their lives.

Ryan rounds out the other half of our only blogging couple to make the top 10 list. Employee Evolution has been on every previous list of the Top 10 Gen Y blogs, and I don’t envision it going anywhere, even with Healy’s partner in crime, Ryan Paugh, taking a different route. Ryan’s often the epitome of brazen and it definitely shines through in his posts and likely resonates with his audience. Here’s a gem.

4.) PR Interactive – A way for Meg to interact with other professionals, students, and professors in communications to further her (and your) knowledge and understanding about the PR field and industry trends.

I think what I like most about Meg’s blog is that she lays it out on a platter, “Here’s what I am interested in right now. It’s probably relevant to you and you can relate to it so as I encounter these issues, feel free to glean insight from my experiences.” At least that’s the feel I get and it works, because she makes it interesting, she makes it work. She also does a great job engaging her readers and cares about your opinion.

3.) Work.Love.Life – Explores topics that range from career development and entrepreneurship to relationships, from personal finances to spirituality and community building.

Like Modite, sometimes Work.Love.Life has been left off of my previous lists due to a lack of updates, but I love Holly’s work and am glad you voted her onto this list. I once stated that she takes authenticity and transparency to a new level, and I’m also learning you readers appreciate that (ala David’s blog at #9).

Virtually every single post has three elements to them: The Holly-side, the Surface-side, and the Deeper-side. I think that’s what makes Work.Love.Life so fascinating and compelling is that we get to see someone (already interesting) engage real issues, what to do on the surface, and then it makes us want to dissect how we encounter similar issues and turn the lens on ourselves. It’s that third part, as much as her transparency that separates her blog in my opinion. Here’s how she found our voices.

2.) Personal Branding Blog – Your #1 resource for personal branding online. this blog includes podcasts, interviews with experts, insightful articles, research reports, games and much more.

I must admit that I was surprised that Dan finally got dethroned, as the Personal Branding Blog has held the top spot every week save the inaugural list, which went to Ben Casnocha. Dan’s re-design is phenomenal, now one of my favorite blog designs online, period. He’s still producing high-quality interviews with prime time players in personal branding, but he’s backed off 7 posts a week. Now, there’s a team of talented contributors each writing one post a week, and the blog hasn’t lost any steam.

The latest Personal Branding Magazine is coming out soon, and it is always a must-read. I am continually impressed with the amount of time Dan is able to commit to personal branding, and if you’re looking to build your personal brand (and you should be), then look no further.

So what blog was worthy of knocking the Personal Branding Blog off of the top spot?

The Number #1 Blog For the Feb. 2009 Edition is……

The Mad Grad

Here’s the jist: We hope the advice that we provide on this site, based on our own experiences and that of others will be helpful in your quest for the perfect job, house or roommate! But you can get the whole scoop here: About The Mad Grad.

Why this blog continually escaped by reach is beyond me, because it really is a great resource for the Gen Y community. These ladies definitely have their pulse on negotiating all things in life after college. From office party etiquette, to ways to relieve stress at work, there’s plenty of relevant information to be had.

Their breadth isn’t limited to issues at the office though, it expands to living on an entry-level salary, and meeting people in a new city. These are all things that matter to Millennials negotiating this daunting transition. Check out Ashley’s most recent post, “How to Relieve Stress at Work,” and Jenny’s as well, “A New Tomorrow is Finally Here.”

——————————-
Compiling this list for my readers and the Gen Y community is something I take great pride in and takes me a significant amount of time (even with opening up votes to you guys).I want to first say that it was immense pleasure getting acquainted with some of these blogs I was less familiar with, and I look forward to reading and learning more from each of you. Please feel free to reach out and connect, and start a conversation with me.Second, I’m very glad we have some new faces on this list (as my bias was probably unintentionally skewing the list a bit). I think that the influx of new blogs will only serve to make this a much more competitive list, and challenge each of us to push ourselves to continue putting out great content. Thanks again to Ryan Paugh for introducing me to some new blogs for the initial ballot.

Moving Forward: I’ve decided I will produce the list bi-monthly so the next list will go live April 1st. I will open voting near the beginning of March. If you voted on this list, had your blog featured on this list, or are interested in the list in anyway and would like to receive notification when voting has opened (and when new lists come out) please send a blank e-mail entitled, “Gen Y Top Blogs,” to ryanstephens (at) gmail.com. I will not use your e-mail for anything other than what I’ve just specified, nor would I ever share it.

Thanks for everyone for continuing to help make this list a great resource for the Gen Y community.

Jonathan Fields posted this interesting tweet the other day, that had me thinking:

My answer was essentially that with something I do not know very much about someone that filters and shares great content is just as valuable as someone creating something new. Though, if I know a lot about it, certainly I want something new, innovative, useful and actionable.

Anyway, the moral of the story is there are some great lists, compilations, etc. out there that filters and shares great content. It’s essentially what I’m trying to do with my Top Posts of… blogs, it’s what Jeremiah Owyang does with his Weekly Digest of the Social Networking space, and it’s what Mack Collier (Top 25 Mktg & Social Media Blogs) and Todd and Charlie (AdAge’s Power 150) do with with their respective lists.

When I interned with Seth this summer and joined the Brazen Careerist network, I wanted to learn more about Gen Y Bloggers and Gen Y targeted blogs. As a result, Jess Neil and I created our own little list. You can find the entire list, the opportunity to vote for your favorite Gen Y blog, blog ranking criteria, other influential Gen Y blogs, and much more on our official squidoo page, but in the meantime I also want to showcase all of our hardwork in this space. I hope you find it valuable.

Top 10 Gen Y Blogs
UPDATED RANKINGS: 10/6/08
– Previous Ranking in Parenthesis –
1. Personal Branding Blog (1)
Dan Schawbel’s blog is more concentrated than most on this list and that enables him to really hone in on his particular niche, personal branding. The self proclaimed #1 resource for personal branding online has been featured in a number of publications, and featured on a number of ‘top lists.’

If you’re a member of generation Y and looking for career development via personal branding, look no further.

2. Hard Knox Life (NR)
It gets tougher each update to stay on this list, especially with phenomenal blogs like this one making such a high debut. We’re big on earning your stripes, but if you deserve it, you deserve it, and Dave’s blog has earned this spot. [Or maybe we're just attracted to shiny new blogs we were previously unfamiliar with.]

The blog is a brand manager’s view at the crossroads of marketing, media and technology. A good chunk of what he writes about pertains directly to things that influence Gen Y, will influence Gen Y, etc. With lots of real life experience in marketing to Gen Y and digital marketing, I suspect Dave’s blog will continue to be very relevant.

3. Employee Evolution (6)
The knock on these guys is that with both Ryan’s focusing much of their attention on Brazeen Careerist the updates haven’t been as frequent. This is potentially what keeps them from challenging Dan for the top spot. The blog is a hot bed of great information for Millennials making the transition from school to the workplace.

It’s also probably targets Generation Y better than any other blog on this list. Don’t miss some of the real gems in the “Top Articles” section of their side bar.

4. Driven Leaders (NR)
And here’s another blog with a ridiculously high debut. [Is it sustainable guys?]

Anthony’s about says it better than I could so here you go:
“Driven leaders is a blog devoted to personal and professional development for the emerging leaders of tomorrow. The pressure on new leaders to hit the ground running has never been greater, and the likelihood and cost of failure is escalating. As Gen-Y continues to become an increasing force in the workplace, the need to develop the necessary skills to be a successful leader grows ever more important.”

5. Newly Corporate (4)
Newly Corporate is a blog for young professionals by young professionals. Its six contributors each bring a distinct style and background to the blog, which enables it to have various dimensions of personality.

One of the best things about the blog is the fact that it does not take itself too seriously, and that lends itself well to its Millennial audience. With an efficient design that is conducive to the sharing of some great information, NC remains in the top 5 this month in spite of a drop in post frequency. Like, Employee Evolution, it benefits from having content that is very Gen Y oriented.

6. Ben Casnocha (3)
Considering Ben established his own software company at age 14, it is safe to say that he understands the nuances of being an entrepreneur. One look at the “Best of Ben” posts and you will understand why he was #1 on our first two versions of this list.

Ben’s blog covers a wide variety of topics, and his deep-thinking approach makes it a stimulating read whether the commentary involves business or ping-pong.

Ben’s blog has been falling a few spots the last couple of updates after debuting on the inagural list as the #1 blog. There’s no question that Ben’s blog is one of the best on this list, and while it’s certainly a valuable read for Gen Y, it’s not necessarily targeted that way.

The next two blogs on this list are similar in that fashion.

7. Brazen Careerist: Penelope Trunk (5)
Penelope’s blog is in your face authentic with posts such as “Plastic Surgery is the Next Must Have Career Tool. Maybe,” and check out the end of “Start Up Skill,” where she’s discussing an interaction between her and new partner Ryan Healy. Nothing is off limits, and her perfect meshing of work and life makes for an intriguing and beneficial read to the Gen Y demographic.

8. I Will Teach You To Be Rich (NR)
Ramit knows his finance. Like both Ben’s and Penelope’s blog his aim isn’t directly at Gen Y, but they could certainly benefit from his blog on personal finance (banking, saving, budgeting and investing) and personal entrepreneurship.

9. PR Interactive (8)
Meg Roberts does a great job interjecting her own personality with some very valuable insight into PR industry. As a current Millennial just starting her ‘official’ career, we are confident that her most interesting posts are in front of her as she negotiates one of life’s big transitions.

Fortunately for Meg, much of her hiatus during her internship, move, etc. was also during our inability to find time to update this list. That’s fine with us, because we feel she deserves to be here!

10. Guru Gilbert (10)
Adam’s blog is another blog that might not be as targeted to Gen Y as some of the others, but his passion for entrepreneurship and helping people shines through and makes his blog well worth the read, particularly for Millennials. And keeping things well rounded, he also posts about questioning the status quo, happiness, and the meaning of life, which always keeps us on our toes!

Adam is featured in the book Millennial leaders, which is actually in our Amazon queue below.

His continuing ability to obtain votes from readers (whether his or ours) enables him to hang onto the 10th spot, instead of relenquishing to one of the other great blogs that just missed this weeks list.

*NOTE – If you are the author of one of these blogs and want something re-worded, added, etc. let us know and we would be happy to accomodate your request provided that it is synonymous with our own goals and objectives. — Ryan

Blogs that Just Missed The List

Young and Frugal
Perhaps the only thing keeping Daniel off the list this week was the fact that he hasn’t had a chance to update in some time. He’s got some great content targeted directly to Gen Y. He’s REALLY improved the aesthetic of his blog, and provided he can find the time to make more frequent updates I envision him back on the top 10 in no time.

Work.Love.Life.
The best way to describe Holly’s blog is honest(possibly to a fault) and authentic. The blog covers any number of issues that bombard Millennials including commentary on corporate and start up life with her own infusion of life and love.

Y Pulse
A great site that is very informative, and a great resource for marketers trying to reach this demographic. Though the focus is on Gen Y, it is more on teens and tweens than the young professionals that this site considers its target demographic.

———————
So, now that you’ve read the list? Who or what am I missing? Which of these blogs are you familiar with, do you currently read? Did I introduce you to a new blog you’re likely to read in the future? (If so, e-mail that blog author and tell them why you like they’re blog — they’ll appreciate it, I know I would) Do you agree with the rankings? Why do you disagree? I promise I’ll respond to every comment! If you enjoyed the list, I urge you to subscribe so that you won’t miss future updates of the Top 10 Gen Y Blogs.

Since becoming a member of Brazen Careerist, I have witnessed first hand the emergence of a number of generation Y blogs. The thing about Millennials is that they want their voices heard and collectively they are a very savvy and ambitious group of bloggers.I am proud to be a member of Generation Y and in an effort to showcase some of the best blogs created by my peers, my latest project was the creation of The Top 10 Generation Y Blogs lens on Squidoo. So what does a top 10 blog entail?

It could be a 20-year old business whiz kid who has already written a book, and started two companies, including one at the age of fourteen. He must skip happy hour because I barely have enough time to attend class, much less maintain one of the most insightful and influential blogs in Silicon Valley. I think I should play him in a game of chess though.

Perhaps it could feature one of the foremost personal branding experts (particularly to Gen Y), whose long list of accomplishments speak for themselves. With our society shifting to a free agent workplace, it is imperative you check out one of the most prolific blogs for job-seekers. Go back and read it frequently because one day soon it should feature a special edition discussing how my personal brand is as the most charismatic person alive. It’s true, just ask me. I’ll tell you.

Maybe a top 10 blog is a collaborative effort written by various people all relatively new to the workforce. A blog for young professionals by young professionals. Simple enough. That Grant Harmon guy is almost as funny as I am.

A top 10 blog could just be one guy thinking some random thoughts, particularly if they’re insightful and about interesting topics that concern Generation Y. Maybe I’m just partial because he thinks college is overrated most of the time too.

“We have finely tuned bullshit detectors and detest PR speak.” Generation Y is changing marketing, The The Marketing Student provides his view from the inside as he engages in a conversation about how future marketers see the present. I just want to know if Axe will really help me get vagina.

Other top 10 Gen Y blogs might provide financial advice for Millennials and be overly paranoid that I think his site is ugly; it’s not and my opinion shouldn’t matter. It could feature a CEO/Personal Trainer/Fitness Guru that’s a lot more than a Muscle Monkey Meathead. Maybe you’re looking for a crazy woman who will let you know that plastic surgery might be the next must have career tool. What about the two guys who relocated to Madison, Wisconsin to work with the aforementioned crazy woman? One of them was even on 60 minutes. Finally, rounding out the most recent top 10 is an intelligent, and very new female PR professional who knows more about the PR industry than I do fantasy baseball.

What are you waiting for? Take some time and get acquainted with all of these talented Millennials and the Top 10 Generation Y blogs. Then come back here and let me know what you think either about the list, the respective blogs, or even if you just want a ziploc bag full of my charisma.
