Interview Leads to TEDx Speaking Opportunity
I first met Jeff Widman when we were one of Seth’s first batch of interns in the Summer of 2007.
He’s one of the more talented networkers I’ve encountered. If he can’t help you he can certainly connect you with someone who will.
Over a year ago I interviewed Jeff on the topic of networking. The post entitled, “Nursing Home Networking,” received quite a bit of attention and shortly thereafter he was asked if he would be interested in speaking in Zagreb at TEDx?
You can read Jeff’s description of how it unfolded on his blog here. And check out his Ted Bio here.
Like I told Jeff, I’m proud to know that my blog helped facilitate this opportunity even if it was in a small way, but I genuinely believe Jeff would’ve made it happen at some point regardless.
We often wax poetic about how our blogs help our own careers, but how has you blog helped someone else lately?
First, connect with Jeff, and be sure and keep an eye on the launch of his new company, Brandglue. Then discuss in the comments section ways in which your blog has helped others, or how you’ve acquired an opportunity contributing to someone else’s blog.
