PR Reader’s Choice Awards Nomination
Wow. Needless to say I’m pretty humbled and flattered by this recognition:
A couple of weeks ago Arik Hanson started the first ever PR Reader’s Choice Awards for blogs. Some very nice people nominated my blog, and I’m excited to share with you that Ryan Stephens Marketing is listed alongside some tremendous blogs in the “Most Educational” category.
If you feel compelled to vote for me and don’t know any better, take 30 seconds to check out the awards voting page – If you do know better, I would love a pat on the back as you kindly vote for Brian Solis’ PR 2.0
Are you checking back for the additional insights? I told you there would be some.
As a tribute to the opposition in the “Most Educational” category, I wanted to share why you should vote for each of the other blogs:
Brian Solis’ PR 2.0 – It’s not very often a blogger can keep me engaged with a long-form post, (Jason Falls & Valeria Maltoni two exceptions) but Brian definitely falls into that mix as well. Every post is packed full of all things PR. For me, he’s the go to player in this niche.
Dave Fleet’s DaveFleet.com – This blog explores the intersection of communications, public relations, marketing, and social media. If you don’t have time read Brian’s lengthy posts, Dave’s work might be a great fit for you. He has an incredible knack for distilling information very informatively, but simple and straight-forward. Like his writing, his design is also clean and efficient for maximum absorption.
Bill Sledzik’s Tough Sledding – I’ve said before I love acquiring insights from professors who have blogs, and Bill’s certainly no exception. As a PR, writing and ethics professor (who makes his students blog – I love it), he sees social media as a step in PR’s evolution, and his blog as an extension of his classroom so it’s very fitting he’s nominated in the ‘education’ category.
And finally … Ryan May’s Minnesota’s Public Relations Blog – This blog, though a very locale targeted blog, is great for unpacking what’s currently going on in the Minnesota PR world and gleaning insight that you can make applicable to your own PR pursuits. Quite a few University of Minnesotat journalism students use the blog as a platform for assignments. Learn right along with them!
There you have it. Now that you’re more familiar with all the blogs in the category, you’ll be able to make a more informed decision. And if after readings all of these great blogs, and you still vote for me all I can say is “Thank You,” and “I’m honored.”

You are definitely up against some tough competition with Brian Solis and Dave Fleet, however there’s a reason your blog is on that list. Your peers nominated you! Stand tall, my friend. You’ve most certainly earned it. And good luck!
