It's funny how in some areas sports are pushing technology, say in nutrition or HD video, but then in other areas, it's as though organizations are completely ignoring what's out there.

@Aidan

Thank you very much for the information on the Penguins and the Alouettes (who I was unfamiliar with). I will definitely look more into both of these teams and the way they approach acessibility of their athletes. Both are solid potential talking points when I have discussions with clients in the sports realm.

I hope that all is well with you. I have been glad to see you back on the grind with Two Notes Ahead.

I don't have much to add to your list -- sports aren't anywhere near the top of my unwritten list of personal strengths -- but two teams that understand the point of athlete accessibility are the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Montreal Alouettes.

The Penguins had Sidney Crosby, their coach, and 8 other players hand-deliver season tickets to 35 randomly selected ticket holders earlier this year.

The Alouettes do over 600 public appearances a year... which is about 1.7 appearances a day for an entire year, many at schools, churches, and other community-hubs. And they sell out most (probably all, but I don't know FOR SURE) of their games.
