Wow Ryan I gotta say that was really deep. I also liked the title you put for this post being "were all like playdoh". You are right at the end though... we shouldn't attack people nor judge them, because we don't know their past and how they got there.

Thanks Ryan.

The advice that stuck with me the most was to make sure and enjoy the present, because anticipating too much about what's to come and/or lamenting the loss of the past makes you miss the beauty of today. It may sound cheesy, but it's relieved a lot of that pressure around 'what do I want to be'. Also, when doors open, you are paying enough attention to see them as the opportunities they are. I try to enjoy every day for what it's worth (whether focused on career, family or other).

Thanks, Ryan. This is a very honest look at a conundrum that I think more of us encounter than we'd like to admit.

I guess what you're pointing to here is a person's core values and priorities. What comes first - career, family, friends? There is no right or wrong answer in general - it comes down to what each person thinks is the right thing. And then acting accordingly is the true measure of one's integrity.

I look forward to discussing this further with you and hearing more of your perspective on the topic!
